We need your help to further the mission of St. Luke's. It is up to everyone, newcomers and old-timers alike, to continue to nurture and grow our beloved church home. Here's how you can make new friends and get involved now:
• Invite a friend or colleague to worship or parish function
• Volunteer your time
• Donate financial gifts (St. Luke's 2020 Annual Giving Campaign Pledges are being collected now - scroll down to learn more)
Opportunities are endless! Some examples:
Pastoral Care Team: Contact the clergy if you would like to make hospital or home visits to the sick and those in need.
Office Help: Light office assistance is needed from time to time. No experience necessary. Contact our parish administrator, Birgit Jacobsen, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Altar Guild: If you have an interest in preparing the sacraments and the sanctuary for Sunday morning Eucharists, weddings, funerals, and baptisms, Betsy Munz, Director of Altar Guild, would love to hear from you at email@example.com.
Flower Guild: If you enjoy flower arranging or would like to learn how please contact Susan Blomberg at firstname.lastname@example.org. The church generally covers the full cost of any flowers purchased. If you do not want to commit to a regular schedule (usually once every 4-6 weeks), the Flower Guild welcomes "guest florists" for a single Sunday.
Lector: If you'd like to read the lessons during worship in church please contact David Oksenberg and he can get you scheduled:
Usher Guild: Brett Elebash and her team are always seeking more ushers for the Sunday services and special occasions. Please contract her if interested: email@example.com.
Coffee Hour: You are welcome to host Coffee Hour after both the 8 or 10 a.m. services. Contact Birgit or look for the sign-up sheets on the bulletin board outside of Dade Hall.
Inter-faith Food Pantry: Please see the Food Pantry section under "Parish Life" for information. If you have a free Saturday morning please contact Tom Hensley to volunteer:
S.F. Food Bank: There is a barrel in the back of church for donations of non-perishable food. Items needed per family are: 1 bag of pasta; 2 cans of vegetables; 1 can of tuna or chicken; 1 can of chili, soup, or chicken. No glass, please.
Sincere thanks to everyone who recruits, volunteers and donates to support the mission of St. Luke's Church. God bless you!
