Make an impact / donate

We need your help to further the mission of St. Luke's. It is up to everyone, newcomers and old-timers alike, to continue to nurture and grow our beloved church home.  Here's how you can make new friends and get involved now:

• Invite a friend or colleague to worship, attend a speaker series, or the Bishop Ranch's Parish Retreat each June

• Volunteer your time

• Donate financial gifts

Opportunities are endless!  Some examples:

Pastoral Care Team: Contact the clergy if you would like to make hospital or home visits to the sick and those in need.

Office Help:  Light office assistance is needed from time to time. No experience necessary. Contact our parish administrator, Birgit Jacobsen, at birgit@stlukessf.org

Altar Guild:  If you have an interest in preparing the sacraments and the sanctuary for Sunday morning Eucharists, weddings, funerals, and baptisms, Betsy Munz, Director of Altar Guild, would love to hear from you at ebmunz@pacbell.net.

Flower Guild:  If you enjoy flower arranging or would like to learn how please contact Susan Blomberg at suesue22@pacbell.net. The church generally covers the full cost of any flowers purchased. If you do not want to commit to a regular schedule (usually once every 4-6 weeks), the Flower Guild welcomes "guest florists" for a single Sunday.

Lector:  If you'd like to read the lessons during worship in church please contact David Oksenberg and he can get you scheduled:

david_oksenberg@hotmail.com.

Usher Guild:  Brett Elebash and her team are always seeking more ushers for the Sunday services and special occasions.  Please contract her if interested: elebash@gmail.com.

Coffee Hour: You are welcome to host Coffee Hour after both the 8 or 10 a.m. services. Contact Birgit or look for the sign-up sheets on the bulletin board outside of Dade Hall.

Inter-faith Food Pantry:  Please see the Food Pantry section under "Parish Life" for information.  If you have a free Saturday morning please contact Tom Hensley to volunteer:

thomas.hensley@yahoo.com

S.F. Food Bank:  There is a barrel in the back of church for donations of non-perishable food. Items needed per family are: 1 bag of pasta; 2 cans of vegetables; 1 can of tuna or chicken; 1 can of chili, soup, or chicken. No glass, please.

The leadership of St. Luke's sincerely thanks everyone who recruits, volunteers and donates to the mission of St. Luke's Church.  God bless you!

Donating

Jesus’ call to “Feed My Sheep” (John 21:17b) motivates us to feed souls, minds and bodies through charitable acts.

Never before has St. Luke’s mission been so far-reaching and so meaningful to so many people. Our church has made a remarkable difference in many lives—around the block and around the world.  We are grateful for the generosity of our parishioners and visitors and we thank you in advance for making financial stewardship an active expression of your life of faith.

A donation of any size has meaning.

Thanks again for your generosity.

Annual Giving: 2018

The year 2018 signifies a "Sesquicentennial",150-year milestone anniversary for St. Luke's Church! It is our obligation as good stewards and caretakers to help ensure the future of St. Luke's Church; building on the platform established by generations of the faithful who came before us.

Appropriately, the theme for our 2018 Annual Giving Campaign is "Furthering St. Luke's Legacy" - a 150-year legacy that has been entrusted to us and that we are responsible for both preserving and fostering.

Your financial gifts support the parish’s daily operations, local community and global outreach initiatives, and all aspects of our worship and music programs. Your generous contributions will fund key church operations, specifically: staff salaries, building improvements and maintenance expenses. In addition, your donations will support important "parish life" activities such as our pastoral care program, children's Sunday School, the food pantry, our annual retreat and annual picnic, Sunday coffee hours, and social events focused on Christian formation and adult education.

Your pledged donation helps ensure that St. Luke’s mission can continue. Thank you for your support.
