Meet Our Staff
Rev. Dana Corsello, Rector
Our Reverend Dana was called as Rector of St. Luke’s in June of 2009 and joined the community in August. Before arriving in San Francisco, Dana was the Associate Rector of St. James’s in Richmond, VA where she served for nearly nine years. Prior to St. James’s she served as the Associate Rector of St. Mary’s-in-Tuxedo, Tuxedo Park, New York for two years. Dana was graduated from The General Theological Seminary of the Episcopal Church in New York City in 1999. A few weeks after receiving her Master of Divinity degree she married Andrew Corsello in the Chapel of the Good Shepherd at GTS. Prior to seminary, Dana worked in magazine publishing in St. Louis, Austin, Texas and Manhattan. She was graduated from the University of Missouri’s School of Journalism in 1985. Her husband, Andrew, is a magazine writer who writes primarily for GQ Magazine. They have two sons, Quincy and Casper, who are loving their lives in San Francisco. Dana was born and raised in Midland, Texas, where her family still lives.
Rev. Tim Smith, Deacon
The Reverend Tim Smith joined St. Luke's in November of 2016 as part of the diocesan Team Deacon Initiative to share diaconal resources among parishes like his home parish St. Mary the Virgin, which has two deacons, and parishes like St. Luke’s which currently have none. Tim will be spending the first three weeks of every other month at St. Luke’s and the first three weeks of the other months at St. Mary’s.
Tim was ordained as a deacon at Grace Cathedral in June 2015 after discerning a call to the diaconate and preparing for three years at the Episcopal School for Deacons in Berkeley. Prior to his call, Tim spent 40 years in the corporate world. He graduated from Princeton University with majors in history and German literature, studied in Germany as a Fulbright Scholar, and received JD and MBA degrees from Columbia.
He and his wife Ilia have lived in San Francisco for 39 years and have been parishioners at St. Mary’s for 38 years. They have a son Justin, who also lives in San Francisco with his wife Emily and a brand new granddaughter Lena.
J. Devin Rodgers, Seminarian
Since August 2015, Devin Rodgers has enjoyed being a part of the St. Luke’s community and the parish is very grateful to have him. As our seminarian he is learning more about ministry and mission by sharing in the life of our community, offering his gifts and encouraging others to do likewise.
Devin and his husband are recent transplants to the Bay Area from Cincinnati. Devin currently attends Church Divinity School of the Pacific. Prior to seminary, he graduated from Miami University of Ohio and served as an instrumental music teacher and elementary school teacher. As a result of his background, both education and music are important aspects of his ministry, and he has enjoyed using these gifts at St. Luke’s. Devin also enjoys running, weight training and playing trumpet as hobbies.
Through his ministry Devin inspires people to utilize their gifts and talents for worship and service. In his home diocese of Southern Ohio, he was involved with Fresh Expressions ministry. Fresh Expressions utilizes both old and new faith practices to revitalize and create new ministry and worship opportunities. As a result of this ministry, Devin serves and participates in intentional communities, campus ministries, a group for young artists and musicians, and as a young adult’s group leader.
Similarly, at St. Luke’s Devin will work to help create new ministries to enhance the mission of our parish. This past fall, we formed a new children’s choir. Through music, Devin’s goal is to help our young parishioners learn about scripture, their role in the Church - and to also experience the joy that comes from using our voices to worship God. The choir is open to any elementary aged child who would like to come sing with us. In addition to the children’s choir, Devin currently assists with Sunday School, preaching and worship pastoral care.
“I am blessed to be a part of this community. I envision St. Luke’s as a parish with a love for sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ while being a unique, welcoming witness to the love of God.” - Mr. J. Devin Rodgers, Seminarian
Steve Repasky, Music Director
Steve Repasky is our Director of Music. He comes to us from serving seven years as Associate Music Director at St. Mary the Virgin Episcopal Church and nearly thirty years as Director of Music at St. Patrick Church. Steve is also a partner in the company that maintains, repairs, and cares for our wonderful Aeolian-Skinner organ -- Hupalo & Repasky Pipe Organs, LLC, of San Leandro. Mr. Repasky holds a bachelor of music degree in organ performance from YSU as well as a master's degree from US Berkeley. Steve is an active member in the American Guild of Organists, the Organ Historical Society, and the American Institute of Organ Builders.
Birgit Jacobsen, Administrator
Long-time parishioner and friend of the parish, Birgit Jacobsen, became our Parish Administrator in December of 2014. Birgit had devoted her career to running her own business as a designer and decorator (she painted the stars above St. Luke's high altar in the chancel and redesigned the Trinity Chapel to name just two projects...) and in 2014 decided to turn her volunteer work for the church into a ministry. One cannot "work" in the church without it becoming a calling. Birgit is a valued member of our staff - and we sincerely thank her for being committed to the success and ongoing operation of St. Luke's Parish. We are truly grateful to have Birgit as Parish Administrator.
Matt Lisk, Sunday School Teacher
Matthew Lisk is a lifelong Episcopalian hailing from Richmond, Virginia. Growing up in his home parish of St. James's Church, Matt was very active in the youth and music programs, traveling to Alaska on two youth mission trips and participating in the choir and guitar ensemble for a number of years. Matt graduated from the College of St. Rose in 2014. In college, he served as a summer camp counselor for two summers at Shrine Mont Camps, the retreat center for the Episcopal Diocese of Virginia. Matt has remained active through the Diocese over the past three years as an adult leader and mentor to the Diocesan Parish Youth Ministry committee. He is excited to be joining St. Luke's and hopes to share his experiences and fellowship with the youth and their families. We welcome Matt to our staff effective January 8, 2017!
Robert Lederer, Office Volunteer
Robert has been a member of St. Luke's since December 1969. He has worked as a volunteer in the church office for more than 10 years. Not only is Robert a great help to the staff, but he is also a very caring human being -- and the "class clown."
